Lahori Fish Fry

Ingredients:

  • Machli (Fish) fillets salted & washed 750 gms
  • Maida (All-purpose flour) 1 Cup
  • Lehsan (Garlic) cloves 5
  • Pani (Water) ½ Cup
  • Lemon juice ¼ Cup
  • Zeera (Cumin seeds) crushed 1 tbs
  • Ajwain (Carom seeds) 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder ½ tsp
  • Lal mirch (Red chili) crushed 1 tbs
  • Dhania (Coriander seeds) crushed 1 & ½ tbs
  • Namak (Salt) 1 tbs or to taste
  • Lal mirch powder (Red chili powder) 1 & ½ tbs or to taste
  • Haldee powder (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp
  • Baisan (Gram flour) sifted 1 Cup
  • Pani (Water) if required
  • Oil for frying

Directions:

On fish pieces,add sifted all-purpose flour & set aside for 15 minutes.

In blender,add garlic,water and blend well.

In bowl,add lemon juice,garlic water,cumin seeds,carom seeds,garam masala powder,red chili crushed, coriander seeds,salt,red chili powder,turmeric powder and mix well.

Add gram flour and mix well.

Add water if required and mix well to form a thick batter.

Add fish fillets and coat well,cover and marinate for 3 hours.

In wok,heat oil and fry fish until golden brown.
